We may have had a harsh, bitterly cold, snowy, and miserable winter, but SPRING IS COMING! It’s right around the corner, in fact! It’s time to start planning your spring getaway to Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. But, know that Spring in Colorado is all over the place weather-wise. It can be in the 50’s or 60’s and sunny one day, and we can get a foot of snow the next day. The nice thing about spring snow is it will probably warm up the next day and be sunny and in a day or two there will be no snow and you may want to put on those short sleeved shirts (the header picture of this post is of my husband and I taking a walk through Garden of the Gods in early March 2020, just a light jacket needed). You can have snow on the ground, but it can still warm and sunny and you’ll be able to go out about hiking, horseback riding, zip lining, and visit attractions such as Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Pikes Peak, and more.
Another reason to visit Colorado in the spring time is because it’s not yet our busy season. Crowds will be low. Attractions will be open. And in these days of the Covid-19 Coronavirus, less people are better!
One of the attractions that’s open during the Springtime is the Royal Gorge Train. It’s a stunning train ride meandering along the Arkansas River, through the Royal Gorge, and under the famous Royal Gorge Bridge, the highest suspension bridge in the United States! You can add on a trip aboard the Royal Gorge Train while staying with us, click for more details!
